Companion Circles

These sessions in the Barn are named after Companion Planting.

Trellis Sessions

Most of the sessions in the Art Room are called Trellis Sessions.

In these circles we're bringing together people with different perspectives, capacities and resources in a facilitated discussion to explore...

1. What's working?

2. What's not working? and

3. What we can do together to change things...? and

4. What's the first step to make this happen?

Most of you will know that Companion planting involves "...the careful placement of plants (especially vegetables and herbs) which have been shown to have beneficial effects on one another. Sometimes, this comes down to simple physical reasons – taller plants provide shelter from sun and wind for plants that need protection."

Thanks Green Life Soil for your clear words.

Just like trellis' these sessions will support and encourage growth.

Each trellis session will include thinkers, dreamers, pragmatists and doers who will join together to explore concepts, introduce new ideas and share practical skills.

Most of all these sessions will offer opportunities to learn with a great dose of hope.

ABOUT US
The WA Community Garden Network (WACGN) is an informal network of WA community gardens and their supporters. Established in 2004, the network has played a significant role in bringing together people involved in community gardens to share ideas and skills, work collaboratively and provide a voice for the community garden sector in WA.

The WA Community Garden Gathering 2018 Committee first met in May 2017 in North Perth. The Committee meets regularly (every 2 weeks) with three working groups; Planning, Engagement and Strategic Direction, busily working to bring to fruition an event with a difference. Our meetings often run late into the night as we discuss, debate and imagine this event together. We are excited and hope you will be too!
